I have recently endevored to improve my understaning of linux. Thus the install of Arch. At the moment I am trying to get X to work. Pacman keeps saying policykit is corrupted. After a search of the Arch site I came across this thread.http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=76758 After following the advice in the thread I am still having problems. Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Arch and where did you download from? Possibly you have to tried to reinstall?

Try downloading it again from here ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/extra/os/i68...686.pkg.tar.gz and installing it manually with "pacman -U policykit-0.9-9-i686.pkg.tar.gz".

I got the iso off a Linux Format disc. When I get home I will post the version.

I mean that you should download it from there using your web-browser (or wget). I was thinking that perhaps your mirror has a corrupted version, and since the ftp.archlinux.org is the main repository the version there should be okay.
